POV: Creativity, story and soul matter more than ever
It's no news flash - the world is changing quickly.
Living through this time where technology is reshaping the way we write, design, create, communicate and share ideas make's me feel uncertain with what the next 5 years will look like. Because personally, I can see and feel how AI is even changing how we allow ourselves (and each other) to think.
However, we cannot choose to ignore it. Artificial intelligence has entered the creative space, whether we are ready for it or still finding our footing. With speed, certainty and a kind of confidence many of us often second-guess in ourselves, AI is offering tools that can generate words, images, concepts, layouts, captions, strategies and inspiration in seconds.
For writers, designers, stylists, artists and business owners, this shift raises an honest question: does this new creative landscape feel exciting, confronting, or perhaps a little of both?
For me, it is both.
A room concept can be visualised faster. A brand idea can be explored with greater depth and direction. A story can be refined, reshaped and reimagined with the support of tools that were not available to us even a few years ago.
There is brilliance in that. There is productivity in that. There is possibility in that.
But even with all that AI can offer, I find comfort in one simple truth: creativity is not only measured by how quickly something can be produced. It is measured by how deeply it is felt.
And that is where my creativity still feels safe.
Because no matter how fast, capable or intelligent technology becomes, AI still cannot feel.
It cannot walk into a home and understand the quiet comfort of a worn timber table that has held years of family dinners. It cannot feel the emotional pull of a photograph, a collected object, a fabric, a handwritten note, or a chair placed perfectly in morning light. It cannot understand what it means to build a home that reflects where you have been, what you love, and who you are becoming.
It can assist with creativity, but it cannot replace the soul behind it.
So for this world that feels like it's rearranging art-isan into art-ificial, I'm rooted to the cause that "the human touch"will become more valuable than ever.
AI can help us move faster. It can help us explore possibilities. It can support the process, remove some of the overwhelm and open new creative doors. But it cannot replace intuition. It cannot replace lived experience. It cannot replace taste, memory, sentiment, or the deep knowing that something feels right.
For those of us who have always felt drawn to creativity, I hope this moment does not feel like the end of originality.I hope it feels like an invitation to lean further into it.
The future will belong to those who can use technology without losing the human touch. To those who can embrace modern tools, while still creating with warmth, emotion, purpose and beauty. Because the essence of life can only be felt and understood through lived experience.
It comes from our homes.
From the places we have travelled.
From the pieces we have collected.
From the stories we carry.
And from the memories we share, and leave behind.
AI may change the way we create.
But it will not change why we create.
We create to express. To connect. To remember. To make spaces, brands and stories feel like "home".
And in a world moving faster than ever, that human thread may be the most important thing we have.
